During this guided tour organised by Alexandre Dewez, the public will be invited to wander around Brussels discovering companies renowned for their greenwashing strategies. As they pass the shop fronts, they are told how these large companies use communication and marketing strategies to highlight environmental arguments and cultivate an eco-friendly image, whilst the reality is quite different.

The Greenwashing Tour offers an opportunity to explore this mysterious and ruthless world of the massive “greenwashing” machine. It also highlights how a genuine systemic change (in the food system) is unlikely to happen any time soon, because of multinational corporations.

To kick off the debate, part of this guided tour also explores the major players in the organic sector. What role can (or cannot) organic supermarkets play in the transition of food systems? A false solution? A genuine solution? Is it complicated?

Greenwashing Tour is organised as part of the Forum des Alternatives at the Alimenterre festival.

We will walk together to See U, where a debate will take place: “Relocalising food systems! Easy to say, but how about doing it?”. There will also be a “speed dating” session with alternatives fighting to change food systems, as well as a screening of the film Sur le Champ!.
